  • Corey is an associate planner in RPA's New Jersey office where he has a variety of responsibilities, including maintaining regular communications with the RPA-NJ Committee; recruitment of new NJ Committee members; organizing Committee meetings; new project development, fundraising, grant writing, foundation reporting and project management; assisting with the Mayors' Institute on Community Design; testifying on behalf of RPA-NJ at legislative hearings and public meetings; speaking at conferences, workshops and press conferences; developing press releases and op-eds; contributing to Spotlight newsletter; monitoring planning-related state policies of interest to RPA; and helping formulate RPA positions and platforms.

    Prior to joining RPA, Corey was a planner with the New Jersey Office of Smart Growth. Major responsibilities included assisting municipalities, groups of municipalities and regional groups in Morris County, Sussex County and Warren County with developing and implementing plans and strategies; serving as the Office liaison to the New Jersey Highlands Council; completing negotiations for the Cross Acceptance Process with Mercer County, Morris County, Passaic County, Sussex County, and Warren County; generating official comments on planning documents including comments on the Highlands Draft Regional Master Plan; coordinating planning activities with the State Development and Redevelopment Plan and Plan Endorsement for participating municipalities in Morris County, Sussex County, and Warren County; coordinating Transfer of Development Rights Programs in Hopewell Township (Cumberland), Frankford Township (Sussex) and Mansfield Township (Burlington); and reviewing, approving and commenting on areas in need of redevelopment and redevelopment plans.

    Corey has a degree in Environmental Planning with a concentration in Geographic Information Systems from Plymouth State University. While in college, he interned with the Southern New Hampshire Regional Planning Commission, the Watershed Bureau of the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services and the Conservation Commission of the City of Keene Planning Department.
