Despite fiscal crises at all levels of government throughout the Region, large-scale infrastructure and urban development projects continue to be planned and implemented. Yet many of the projects currently in planning won't be built unless new revenue sources or creative financing schemes are identified. This workshop will use the Far West Side financing plan as a starting point for a discussion of potential revenue sources and financing mechanisms for a variety of regional megaprojects, from the Meadowlands redevelopment to downtown Brooklyn revitalization and transportation expansion like the Second Avenue Subway, East Side Access and Access to the Region's Core.
