From Risk to Recovery: Implementing the Third Plan for the New York-New Jersey-Connecticut Metropolitan Area
Regional Plan Association's  6th Annual Regional Assembly April 23, 1996
at The Marriott Marquis Hotel

Program of the 1996 Regional Assembly

In February 1996, Regional Plan Association released its landmark Third Regional Plan for the Tri-State Metropolitan Area, A Region At Risk. The Plan presents the results of five years of analysis of the region and its economy, society and ecology. The Plan proposes five campaigns to recapture the region's historic promise of prosperity and opportunity-campaigns designed to make its economy more competitive in a global economy, its society more equitable, and its environment more sustainable. These goals are mutually supportive, as we work toward a new vision of the region in the 21st century.

The 1996 Regional Assembly will present the major recommendations of the Third Regional Plan and will begin discussions on implementation and coalition-building. Workshops will address specific proposals in the Plan, and participants will be asked to help shape and become part of a grand coalition, representing the region's civic, business and political leadership, that will begin to work together to bring about substantial changes in the way we build, travel, live, work and govern.

Join us for our most important Regional Assembly ever as we critique RPA's plan for the next millennium and identify how you can become involved in bringing about positive changes for the future.
