Since 1992, more than 500,000 jobs have been created in the Tri-State region. Wall Street is booming, tourists are coming in record numbers and technology industries that no one had heard of a decade ago are leading growth sectors. In spite of these gains, urban unemployment and poverty remain stubbornly high.
