Pierina manages RPA's research, planning and advocacy activities in New York, including leading studies on affordable housing and neighborhood change, economic development and sustainability. She also leads the community engagement program of the Fourth Regional Plan, which has reached thousands of low-income residents and residents of color in partnership with grassroots, base-building organizations. Pierina is a visiting assistant professor at Pratt Institute, where she lectures on gentrification and neighborhood change. She previously worked as a fellow in the Chicago Mayor’s Office, an intern at the White House, and a senior aide to a New York City council member. Pierina holds a bachelor of arts in psychology from Harvard University and a master in public affairs from Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School.
