Dani is the vice president for strategic communications at Regional Plan Association. Dani is currently overseeing the rollout of the region’s long-range, comprehensive plan, the fourth in RPA’s 90-year history and is working with RPA staff and partners to create a communications strategy to speed the implementation of the plan’s recommendations.
Dani previously served as the global head of communications for Motivate, a global leader in bike share and was part of the launch team for Citi Bike, the largest and most successful bike share program in the western world.
Prior to joining Motivate, Dani was the director of strategic communications for the New York City Department of Transportation under Commissioner Janette Sadik-Khan. There she started New York’s Summer Streets program which closes over 7 miles of city streets to auto traffic and opens them up to tens of thousands of people to walk, bike and play for three Saturdays each August. She also managed projects ranging from the Agency’s online communications to advertising and marketing campaigns that were seen by millions of New Yorkers.
She has an undergraduate degree from Brown University and a Masters of Environmental Science from the Yale School of Forestry. She lives in Brooklyn with her wife and son and is a daily bike commuter.
