new proposal by General Growth Properties calls for demolishing the
existing structures on Pier 17 to construct an elaborate mixed-use
developmā¦ent including a 42-story hotel and apartment tower. Will the
new development revitalize the Seaport or compromise the character of
this historic site? Kent Barwick, President of the Municipal Art
Society; Michael McNaughton, Vice President of Asset Management,
Northeast, GGP; Julie Menin, Chair of CB 1, Manhattan; Frank Sciame,
Board Chair at the Seaport Museum; and Madelyn Wils, Executive Vice
President for Planning and Development at the NYC Economic Development
