Stand clear of the sweaty pores; heat soars on subway platforms

While riders cooled off in the cars, staffers from the Regional Plan Association took the temperature at 10 of the busiest stations.

Highest on the heat chart was City Hall on the Lexington Avenue line, and 34th Street on the N line with a scorching 96 degrees. The next highest station was just a few stops away, Union Square, where the temperature was 95 degrees.
