RPA Signs On to NYC Bag Bill

This week RPA joined 70 civic and environmental organizations in calling on the New York City Council to pass a bill that would require stores to charge 10 cents for all plastic and paper carryout bags. New York City uses 10 billion single-use carryout bags annually. This bill could dramatically reduce that number, decreasing the litter in our parks and streets and saving the city millions of dollars in disposal costs.
