RPA: Rezoning Amendments Are Vital to a Livable, Affordable New York

RPA delivered testimony before the New York City Planning Commission on Wednesday, voicing support for the Zoning for Quality and Affordability and Mandatory Inclusionary Housing proposals. “ Both zoning text amendments under consideration are critical to the goal of expanding New York City’s supply of affordable housing while improving quality of life in neighborhoods throughout the five boroughs,” said Chris Jones, RPA’s vice president for research.

Jones also highlighted ways the rezoning proposals could be strengthened, including calling for clarity regarding how initiatives like Mandatory Inclusionary Zoning will interact with existing affordable housing incentives.
