RPA: 250,000 Homes Could Be Built on Parking Lots by Regional Rail Stations

In a region struggling with too much congestion and too little affordable housing, the Regional Plan Association argues more than 250,000 new homes could be built within walking distance of commuter rails if developers were able to build on park-and-ride lots. "The answer to these two problems seems simple: build neighborhoods with less expensive homes where cars are needed less," says a report out Tuesday by RPA titled 'Untapped Potential.'
