Advocates of motorized transportation sent Gov. Cuomo a letter Tuesday urging him to backpedal on his opposition to ebikes and electric scooters.
Citing environmental concerns and clogged city streets, the coalition of transportation and business groups said the bikes and scooters can supplement the city and state’s new congestion pricing plan.
“E-bikes and e-scooters are safe, environmentally-friendly modes of transportation that can make cities more livable and solve last-mile transportation issues,” said the letter signed by representatives from 20 organizations, including the Regional Plan Association and Transportation Alternatives.
