Must Get Vital New Haven Rail Line Up to Speed

An analysis released last week by the Regional Plan Association determined that infrastructure on the 60-mile stretch of track between New Haven and Woodlawn, N.Y., (where it merges with the Harlem Line) "has been allowed to deteriorate, largely due to decades of underinvestment in critical repairs and upgrades." Delaying the repair work "significantly raises the risk of unplanned outages and limits the line's capacity to accommodate growing ridership." Read the Hartford Courant's editorial.
