Mayor de Blasio Moves to Expand Ferry Service in New York City

Jeff Zupan, senior fellow for transportation at the Regional Plan Association, called the proposal “kind of a mixed bag,” with some of the planned routes’ viability unclear until service starts. Mr. Zupan said that he hoped the city would drop routes “if they turn out to be dogs” with few riders – a possibly risky prospect should travelers, even in comparatively small numbers, become attached. “I commend the mayor for giving it a shot,” he said, adding, “Hopefully some of these will stick.” Read the full article in The New York Times.
