Bound Brook Downtown Urban Design Plan

Bound Brook Downtown Urban Design Plan Thursday, December 9, the Bound Brook Land Use Board voted unanimously to adopt, as an official element of its municipal Master Plan, the Downtown Urban Design Plan prepared by RPA for this flood-prone historic downtown. The adopted transit-oriented plan will effectively link the downtown to the currently inaccessible Raritan riverfront and to Bound Brook's three adjoining communities, building on the soon to be completed US Army Corps of Engineers flood prevention project. It will create over 1,200 downtown jobs; 400+ new housing units; 30 acres of habitat restoration lands; a 1+ mile waterfront trail linking to existing and future regional trails in all directions; riverfront amenities such as a boat house and fishing piers; and a civic and historic area dedicated to the celebration of the Raritan River and to the pre-Revolutionary history of the region."
