Bloomberg makes a Metro-North argument for more transit funding

"I don’t think we’re going to know for a while whether this is a statistical aberration or whether it's kind of the canary in the coal mine in terms of the system buckling under the ridership, and us not having it up to the state of good repair," Tom Wright, the Regional Plan Association's executive director, told me yesterday. "Either 2013 will enter the books as just a really tough year, or people will look back at it and say, 'This is when we started to see the delayed effects of maintenance and other types of shortcuts.'"
