Bike and Pedestrian Advocacy in Connecticut

Bike_Pedestrian_Conference A group of legislators and civic groups gathered before a packed room in Hartford on January 29th to urge state lawmakers to ensure the inclusion of walkable and bikable streets into the local spending of federal stimulus funds.  The news conference was introduced by RPA's Connecticut Director who highlighted the opportunities embodied in the stimulus package to fill the deficits in Connecticut's mobility system through targeted traffic calming, sidewalks, and bike lanes along safe-routes-to-school and safe-routes-to-transit.
