Regional Plan Association and ICLEI-Local Governments for Sustainability hosted the first Mayors' Institute on Climate Change on September 3-5, 2008. The Institute brought together the mayors of Babylon NY, Bridgeport CT, Kearny NJ, New Rochelle NY, Parsippany-Troy Hills NJ and Stamford CT, for a series of discussions ranging from stormwater management to energy efficiency, and from transit-oriented development to green site designs. The keynote speech was delivered by Rocky Anderson, former Mayor of Salt Lake City, whom Mayor Michael Bloomberg introduced.
